About the instructors
Nwaobi Orakwue is a self-taught broadcaster whose passion for broadcasting was ignited by a fateful meeting with Nigeria’s foremost actor and ace broadcaster, Pete Edochie, who opted to have him on Anambra Broadcasting Service Radio (ABS) FM way back in 1992. There the programmme: Personal Notes was born.
That singular recommendation berthed many other radio presentations across Minaj Systems Radio, Obosi; Radio Rivers, Treasure FM and Ray power- all in Port Harcourt, featuring programmes like: Only of 89, Only of 99, A Breath of Paradise, Her Green Values, Construction Matters.
These efforts would later berth other multi-media possibilities including video documentaries.
Looking back at age 50, I recognized that those programmes over the years made all the difference in the lives of many.
The challenge then was to start a radio station through which I could then engage completely with this discovered passion. Terrestrial Radio was not an option. The solution came with Technology - internet radio.
Thankfully the internet radio technology has so evolved now that together with an application, I could stream my messages to the world, thus putting these messages, literally speaking, in the palm of the hands of the listeners, on mobile phones.
Today, that passion finds expression in Aspire Radio, where we now bring to the attention of the World: a better way to live.
