Professional Profile
Riume Efetie is a veteran Nigerian broadcaster, broadcast presentation instructor and speech coach with more than 40 years of experience in broadcasting and professional media training.
For decades, he worked with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Radio Nigeria, where he became known as a presenter and authoritative broadcast voice. He subsequently moved into professional media education at the National Broadcast Academy, formerly the FRCN Training School, where he served as Head of the Presentation Department.
He currently serves as Assistant Registrar, WABMA Lagos Campus, while continuing to train broadcasters in presentation, voice, diction and professional speech.
Broadcasting Career
Efetie built much of his professional career at Radio Nigeria, working for decades as a broadcaster and presenter.
His long experience behind the microphone provided a practical foundation in radio presentation, voice use, script interpretation, pronunciation, microphone technique and the professional standards associated with national public broadcasting.
After years of active broadcasting, his career moved increasingly towards professional education, allowing him to transfer accumulated knowledge and experience to succeeding generations of broadcasters.
National Broadcast Academy
Efetie was deployed to the National Broadcast Academy, NBA, the professional training arm of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and formerly known as the FRCN Training School.
He subsequently served as Head of Department of Presentation, placing him in a senior position in the professional preparation of broadcasters.
His work at the Academy focused on developing the presentation skills required for professional radio and television broadcasting, combining classroom instruction with practical voice and microphone training.
This period established Efetie not only as a broadcaster but also as a specialist broadcast educator and mentor.
WABMA Academic and Campus Leadership
At WABMA, Efetie combines administrative responsibility with professional instruction.
As Assistant Registrar, Lagos Campus, he contributes to the administration and coordination of WABMA's Lagos operations while remaining actively involved in teaching.
He serves as a specialist instructor in Basic and Intermediate Broadcast Presentation, drawing on decades of experience in professional broadcasting and broadcaster training.
His continuing classroom role reflects WABMA's emphasis on having experienced industry professionals teach the practical disciplines they have practised professionally.
Voice and Presentation Training
Efetie's specialist areas include broadcast presentation, voice training, diction, elocution, pronunciation, microphone technique, script interpretation and public speaking.
His training extends beyond aspiring radio and television presenters to professionals who depend on effective spoken communication, including corporate executives, public speakers, lecturers and other public facing professionals.
His approach connects vocal technique with clarity, confidence, audience engagement and professional presentation standards.
Author and Trainer
Efetie is also an author of two publications on presentation, extending his contribution to professional training beyond the classroom.
Contribution to WABMA
Efetie brings to WABMA a combination of long professional practice and specialist teaching experience.
His career connects three important stages of professional development: decades as a practising national broadcaster, senior responsibility for presentation training at the National Broadcast Academy, and his current work developing broadcasters at WABMA.
As Assistant Registrar in Lagos, he also provides continuity between WABMA's central academic administration and its Lagos Campus.
