WABMA Q1 Closing Ceremony Marks Another Milestone in Media Education

Abuja, Nigeria – March 13, 2025 – The West Africa Broadcast & Media Academy (WABMA) successfully held its Quarter 1 Long Courses Closing Ceremony, celebrating the successes of students who completed the academy’s quarterly 5-week intensive media and communication courses.

The event, hosted at WABMA’s Abuja Campus and streamed online for participants in Lagos and Enugu, brought together industry professionals, facilitators, and graduating students for a day of recognition, reflection, and celebration.

In his closing speech, the Rector, Dr. Ken Ike Okere commended the graduates for their dedication and emphasized the critical role media professionals play in shaping narratives and driving positive change. He further encouraged them to uphold the values of ethical journalism, creativity, and innovation as they step into the media industry.

The event featured students’ testimonials, facilitators’ feedback, and a formal statement of results presentation by the registrar. Graduates were officially recognized as WABMA Ambassadors, reinforcing their commitment to excellence in media and communications.
